The Master's program student, Vivian Law (Law Tsz Wai), was selected a valedictorian and gave a valedictory at the GSGES commencement held on March 25th.

The Master's program student, Vivian Law (Law Tsz Wai), won the Best Presentation Award at the GSGES Master's thesis defense held on January 25th and 26th.

The laboratory is currently in the process of special recruiting of the particularly capable international students who seek to enroll in doctoral programs in October 2024. It is expected, but not ensured, that selected students can obtain scholarships provided by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) in Japan. Any potential applicants are welcome to contact Prof. Usami no later than the 18th of September.

The doctoral student, Rika Fajrini, won First Prize for Student Talk at Student Conference on Conservation Science (SCCS) 2023.

At the international conference on Substantive Future Rights to be held in a hybrid way on the 30th and 31st of March, Prof. Usami will make a presentation on philosophical issues surrounding the idea of posterity's rights. Everyone is welcome to attend the conference via Zoom, and there is no participation fee. For the program and the way to obtain the Zoom like, see here.
